Measurement Tips
📏 Measuring Your Lawn
For rectangular areas, measure length and width. For irregular shapes, break them into smaller rectangles and circles, then add the areas together.
📐 Depth Guidelines
Mulch: 2-3 inches. Topsoil: 6-12 inches for new lawns. Compost: 1-2 inches mixed into top 6-8 inches of soil.
🌱 Seeding Rates
New lawns need 2-4x more seed than overseeding. Different grass types have different seeding rates - use our Grass Seed Calculator for accuracy.
⚖️ Unit Conversions
1 cubic yard = 27 cubic feet. Most bags are 2 or 3 cubic feet. Always check bag sizes when buying materials.
